Full-Time/Part-Time Options
Full-Time Option
Full-time students, most of whom are recent university graduates, complete the program within a twelve-month period beginning in September. They take most of their courses at the same time as those in the part-time stream, thereby allowing them to benefit from the knowledge and experience of working municipal professionals.
Part-Time Option
Experienced managers and local government employees are more likely to choose the part-time option, which takes approximately three years (seven to ten terms) to complete. Many courses are taught in week-end and week-long formats in order to maximize accessibility to those working full-time. These courses are taught in-person at Western University.
Part-time students are encouraged to plan their academic progression well in advance. They are able to download a course planning tool and work with the program coordinator during this process.
